Zimbalam is closing. How to move your music to MusicDiffusion?

Zimbalam officially closing its service the 31 March 2022 and requests to its users with distributed music to move to our competitor Tunecore. But why not distribute your music to MusicDiffusion and save your money for something else?

Tunecore is costing 9€/year for a single and 45€/year for an album. With MusicDiffusion you will just pay 2.99€ one time by track or 15€99 to release unlimited music during a complete year, then your music stays online on stores and platforms forever and you keep 90% of your royalties. You can check our MusicDiffusion distribution pricing.

In this tutorial, we’ll take you step-by-step through transferring your distributed music from Zimbalam (or from any other music distributor) to MusicDiffusion.

– STEP 1 –

Log in to an existing MusicDiffusion account or create a new one by clicking the “Register” button.

– STEP 2 –

Upload your music to MusicDiffusion using the exact same metadata (track title, credits, UPC and ISRC codes) as your content already distributed through Zimbalam (or any other distributor).

To clarify, there is a UPC code per release and an ISRC code for each existing title. For example, if you are transferring an Album with 10 tracks, you will have 1 UPC code and 10 different ISRC codes.

Please follow this tutorial to release your tracks/albums on MusicDiffusion (French version here), you can also contact our support for any help.

– STEP 3 –

Make sure that your new MusicDiffusion references are online on the platforms.

When you log in to platforms like Spotify on their desktop app, click on the album or single release. You should be able to see a button in the lower right corner that says “1 New Addition”, this means that your newer version of MusicDiffusion is correctly linked to the older version of Zimbalam.

– STEP 4 –

Once Zimbalam automatic takedown goes live on March 31, 2022, your new version distributed with MusicDiffusion will take over and your listeners won’t see a difference.

Congrats, you have successfully transferred your previous music from Zimbalam (or any other distributor) to MusicDiffusion! This will allow your music to continue to be heard around the world on all stores and streaming platforms. MusicDiffusion is happy to welcome you to the first all-in-one platform for music creators and our independent artists community!

Distribute and sell your music on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Beatport, Facebook, YouTube and much more with MusicDiffusion®
